Today, I woke up at about 7:00. I slept on a mat on the floor (which is good ’cause I don’t really like sleeping on a really squishy soft bed). I noticed that when I woke up, I rolled off the mat. Fortunately I didn’t bump my head. If you didn’t get the joke, you should know that the mat is an inch thick. At 8:00, the lady came up with a platter of coffee and coffee accesorries! *whistle!* I passed on the coffee since I gave that stuff up 15 years ago. An hour later, the “continental” breakfast was served downstairs. Boy, it was huge! We were expecting a muffin but there was sauteed potatos, scones, fresh orange juice, an egg/pepper thing and for dessert, a bannana/vanilla custard with fresh banana and the wafer on top with ice cream. All home made (to a point). It was very filling and delicious.
After breakfast, we went back to the fairgrounds to put on the second workshop. It went pretty good. Dennis (who is in the Lloyd club) was there and he stopped by his camp later.
After the workshop, I went to Lloyds and played (it sounds like I’m there a lot but that’s on of the only real good jams there are [that I know of at least]). I saw that next door (or next tent in this case), Chef Mike was making a mexican taco salad. About an hour later, he set up a delicious spread for us all to eat. (He enjoys cooking for the jammers) I helped myself to the chicken, salad and beans (you know, a little bit of everything). Afterwards, I was full. After a quick trip to the can, I was ready to take pictures for the new songbook. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a single jam happening! A few hours later, I tried taking pictures but then people were eating dinner!
Since taking pictures was out of the question and I was full I jammed with Llod and the gang. We played ’till 1:03AM and by then it was absolutely freezing out. I brought a year old instant heating pad to warm my hands but that expired so it was lukewarm. At that time, it was almost too cold to play so we went back to the hotel. Since it was 1:00am and things were supposed to be quiet at 9:00pm, we treaded very softly. I don’t think we woke anybody up.
Very cool design! Useful information. Go on!
