Boy! Well, now something finally happened that was worth blogging about! We are cleaning out some junk from downstairs. Not just any junk like extra clothes, books, plates, old sports equipment, etc. More like shop stuff. We’re clearing out some pipes, wire, car stuff, things we got at the junkyard years and years ago. (before I was even young!) Oh, we also straightened out all the camping gear. In any case, we had these old pipes that still might be useful. However, there were these nuts screwed onto the threaded ends and I was supposed to take them off. I tried the first on but it was so old that the nut wouldn’t budge. I tried a newer looking pipe (all of ‘em had rust but the newer ones only had one or two layers). Now with that one, I could take the nut off pretty easy. Pa suggested I try putting WD-40 on the treads which might soak in and make it possibly possible to take the nuts off the old pipes. (’cause the nuts were frozen onto the old pipes)
Well, we had a new bottle of WD-40 so I squeezed the button. Boy! That stuff is under high pressure! Much higher than the other lubricants we had. It shprittzed and ricocheted right into my eye! Fortunately, there was a faucet close by so I cupped some water and splashed it in my eye. After a few splashes, I realized that I unconciously closed my eye when I splashed the water. So instead, I turned on the water and held my eye under the sink. After a minute, I dried my eye. It felt fine but I looked at the bottle and it said to our water on it for 15 minutes! Well, I put it under for a few more minutes (or at least it felt like a few more minutes) and then dried it off ’cause it didn’t really hurt anymore (It didn’t really hurt in the beginning but I acted pretty quickly so maybe that had something to do with it)
