So, we first went the hardware store to look for the file. They had a file that looked just like the one we were looking for. Unfortunately, it didn’t have the orange rubber cushioning that the one we have did. So, back home, I looked online for one. I soon found a site that had that file as well as many other things. however, I couldn’t find a way to order the file. So, I looked elsewhere. It took longer than I thought to find the same file. A few places had it. Unfortunately, at one place, it was out of stock and at the other places, you had to get a set of 5. Finally, I found this one place called the Centaur Forge And that’s where I found what I was looking for. Plus, I didn’t need to place a minimum order of five!

After ordering that, I decided to get some goatskin to re-skin my old shamisen. I had been wanting to do that for a while but was too busy to do it while I was working on my new one. Now, since I couldn’t do anything else without the 2nd file, I could use that time to re-skin the shamisen. The local drum store (where I’ve purchased skin in the past) was the place to go for that. I didn’t know their store hours so I looked online. They said they were open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00-6:00. We biked down there at 5:00 and saw it was closed! I read on the sign that it was open from Thursday to Saturday. I could see that the site and the store weren’t exactly synchronized.
Murphy’s Law, when I go there on Thursday, they will be sold out of goat skin.
At least I got the file ordered!
How do you re0skin a shamisen? If you know, shoot me an email.
